Biography

A Life in Ancient Music

Aldous Fiore is a Mexican multi-instrumentalist and composer who began his musical journey at the age of 18. Initially a lead singer in various heavy metal projects, his deep passion for music led him to explore the sonic world of the Middle Ages and the Celtic tradition.

Over the years, he mastered several instruments — bagpipes, flutes and the hurdy-gurdy — each one opening new doors into the ancient musical traditions of Europe. A profound encounter with the Oud, the classical Middle Eastern lute, sparked an even deeper exploration of its timeless sounds.

This journey led him to collaborate on ambitious projects such as Joculatores Domini, Codex Festivus, Al Zejel and Gaelic Horses, steadily building an artistic voice that bridges the medieval Iberian Peninsula, the Middle East, the Balkans and the Celtic world.

"Music is a bridge across time — when I play, I try to make that bridge as real as possible."

Today Aldous performs as a solo artist and as a member of the celebrated German medieval band Corvus Corax, bringing ancient music to stages across Europe.
